Our Story
A family practice — in every sense.
In 1984, Dr Michael Dellamalva opened a small dental practice in Croydon, Adelaide. He had a simple idea: treat patients the way you'd treat family. Listen properly. Explain honestly. Do good work.
That practice grew — not through marketing, but through word of mouth. Families told other families. Children grew up, had kids of their own, and brought them to the same dentist. Some patients have been coming for over 30 years.
In 2011, Michael's son Alex graduated from the University of Adelaide with his BDS and joined the practice. It was never a corporate succession plan — Alex simply grew up watching his dad care for people, and wanted to do the same. The father-and-son dynamic adds something you can't manufacture: real continuity.
Today, the practice spans two locations — Croydon and Virginia — with a team that includes Dr Silvia Lee, Dr Bakir Assafi, and Oral Health Therapist Portia Vail. The Dellamalva dental family extends further, too: Michael's daughter Nella also practises dentistry at Munno Para.
Dentistry runs in the family. And so does looking after yours.
